Winter Arc FAQ
WINTER ARC is a minimal, austere habit tracker for the Winter Arc Challenge — a 90-day discipline protocol (customizable 7–365 days) with a radar Stat Polygon, daily checklist, and streak system. No color, no chrome — only typography, structure, and execution. Below are the top 10 questions people ask about the Winter Arc, optimized for quick answers and search.
Top 10 Winter Arc Questions
The Winter Arc Challenge is a winter-focused self-improvement sprint where you lock in daily habits and transform before spring. At winterarc.online it is a 90-day discipline protocol (custom 7–365 days) — you choose habits like training, nutrition, hydration, deep work, reading, and recovery, then check them daily. Your consistency builds a Stat Polygon (radar chart 0–10), a daily progress bar, and a streak. It is the minimal, brutal alternative to aesthetic habit apps: no streaks-for-sale, just execution. Also called winter arc, winter arc challenge, and 90-day winter arc in search.
There are no single official Winter Arc rules — you set them. On WINTER ARC we give you 8 default habits across 3 cards: Health Infrastructure (Hydration, Nutrition, Training, Recovery), Skill Development (Deep Work, Discipline), Academic Prep (Reading, Social Life). You can rename, add, or delete any task or card, and link each habit to a stat it levels up. The only rule we enforce: check your tasks daily. Hit 100% and that day is stamped; your Stat Polygon (+9/arc-days per check, e.g., 90-day +0.10, cap 10) and LVL (average of stats) update live.
The cultural default is 90 days — roughly Oct 1 → Jan 1 — and on winterarc.online 90-Day Arc is the Standard (Recommended). But you can choose any length 7 to 365 days in the “Choose Your Arc” modal before onboarding. Your hero displays DAY X OF Y — Z REMAINING • Y-DAY ARC and the footer shows your arc length. Custom arcs save to cloud (arc_days) and localStorage, and persist after Reset. Want a 30-day starter or 120-day extended arc? Pick Custom and set it.
1) Open winterarc.online/arc → 2) Pick 90 days or Custom 7–365 in the Choose Your Arc modal → 3) Complete Level 1: slide each stat 1–10 to set your honest baseline → click Initialize →. You instantly get your polygon, daily checklist, and streak tracker. Check tasks as you finish them — progress bar, flame streak pill, and polygon refresh live. Tip: double-click titles to rename, click ✎ to edit descriptions, “+ Add task” / “+ Add Card” to expand. Start your arc now →
No — Winter Arc vs 75 Hard is a common search. 75 HARD (Andy Frisella) is a rigid 75-day program with 5 fixed rules (2 workouts, gallon of water, diet, 10 pages, progress pic) — fail one and you restart at day 1. Winter Arc is flexible and winter-themed: you define habits, choose duration (90 standard or 7–365 custom), and track via a radar Stat Polygon + streak protocol instead of a fixed checklist. Winter Arc is the austere, customizable habit tracker alternative — less dogma, more personal protocol.
Each habit links to a stat (e.g., “Training” → Training). Your Level 1 values (1–10) seed the radar. Checking a habit adds +(9/arc-days) to its stat (e.g., 90-day +0.10, 30-day +0.30, 7-day +0.50 capped, 365-day +0.02; clamped 0.02–0.50, capped at 10); unchecking subtracts same (floor 1). The Chart.js radar, stats mini-grid (4→2 cols on mobile), and LVL (average of stats, shown as LVL X • Y.Y avg) update instantly. Open Edit Stats to rename labels (key auto-slugs), remove (keep ≥3) or add (max 12, you pick initial 1–10). Adds/removes sync via STATS._defs to cloud or localStorage.
Streak = consecutive 100% days. At 100% completion we stamp today as last_100_date. Next day hitting 100% again increments streak only if yesterday was the last 100% day; otherwise it resets to 1. Miss a full day and on next load streak resets to 0 with a toast “missed day.” The header flame pill and big Streak Protocol card mirror this. Your stats and polygons stay — only the streak resets, so you can start a new run immediately.
Free, no paywall. You can use WINTER ARC with no account — data stays 100% in your browser (localStorage keys: winterarc-tasks-v2, winterarc-checks-v2, winterarc-stats-v2, winterarc-arc-days-v1 etc.). Optional Google sign-in is the only auth (no password) and enables cloud sync — your data, checks, stats, streak, arc_start_date and arc_days save to our Postgres WinterArcState and load on any device. Voluntary support via UPI winterarconline@axl or Ko-fi helps keep it free.
WINTER ARC is web-only, no native app — intentionally minimal for speed. It is fully responsive down to 320px: header collapses to a hamburger menu (→ Terms, Privacy, FAQ, Reset), polygon + cards stack to a single column, hero and bottom progress bars stay centered. Add winterarc.online to Home Screen on iOS/Android for an app-like launch. All features — checking tasks, inline edits, Edit Stats, arc countdown — work identically on phone and desktop.
Not signed in: entirely in your browser — we never see it. Signed in with Google: synced via PUT /api/winterarc / GET /api/winterarc to our database; switching to cloud clears local copies. No ads, no trackers, no analytics cookies currently. Reset (with confirmation) wipes checks, custom tasks, Level 1 stats and streak locally + cloud. For full cloud deletion or JSON export, email webmayhemx@gmail.com. See Privacy Policy and Terms.
